With the impending doom of ObamaCare, Socialist Sanders calls for passage of ZombieCare.
Never letting a good crisis go to waste, Socialist Senator Bernie Sander (I-VT) is using bad news about the government’s adventure in providing health care insurance to call for a complete government takeover.
Last week, another blow to the disastrous health care law known as ObamaCare occurred when health-insurer Aetna announced it was pulling out of most of the markets it serves.
In a major blow to Obamacare, one of America’s largest health insurers said it was pulling out of most of the markets in which it was participating, citing huge losses in the past quarter.
In a statement Monday, Aetna reported that it lost $200 million in the second quarter of 2016 and as a result would participate next year in just four states’ Obamacare marketplaces: Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska and Virginia.
Simultaneously, ObamaCare rates are increasing substantially in several states. In fact, rates may be increasing up to 45% in Illinois.
The week of disastrous ObamaCare news led Sen. Sanders to renew his call for socialized medicine (aka ZombieCare) on his website:
“In my view, the provision of health care cannot continue to be dependent upon the whims and market projections of large private insurance companies whose only goal is to make as much profit as possible. That is why we need to join every other major country on earth and guarantee health care to all as a right, not a privilege. That is also why we need to pass a Medicare-for-all single-payer system. I will reintroduce legislation to do that in the next session of Congress, hopefully as part of the Democratic Senate majority.” [Emphasis added.]
As Sanders notes, a Democratic Senate majority may be necessary before a complete government takeover and enactment of ZombieCare can occur.
